We usually respond within a week
SD Worx is a leading European provider of Payroll & HR services with global reach. We have offices in Europe and an office in Mauritius. Our goal? We bring people solutions to life, so companies of any size can turn Human Resources into a source of value for the business and the people in it.
Our people solutions span the entire employee journey, from getting people paid to attracting, rewarding, and developing talent. Are you ready to join us?
About the role
We are seeking a strategic and people-focused Director of Technology to lead our French development team responsible for products within the French portfolio. This includes the development and management of French payroll and reward solutions, as well as transversal corporate products introduced across countries. You will manage priorities in alignment with business stakeholders and oversee local development teams.
In this leadership role, you’ll report to the Cluster Tribe Lead while being an active member of the Global Product Management Team. You’ll also join the country management team, playing a key part in driving the success of the French organization as a whole.
The role will be based in either Bayonne or Paris, within our growing French product team of over 30 employees and three managers.
Your responsibilities
Define and drive the product portfolio together with your stakeholders: set the vision for the Tribe and its products, working closely with our portfolio team (who define what products are deployed in which markets) and the country leadership team.
Make product lifecycle decisions (piloting, scaling, decommissioning, etc.) and oversee software development (IP creation).
Lead a people and product transformation towards a modern architecture and ways of working to ensure a complete end-to-end digital experience for the customer.
Manage the Tribe: formulate its mission and goals, decide on composition and headcount, and allocate budgets to maximize product value.
Build capability in international development centres, including teams outside Europe, to deliver scalable and innovative solutions.
Establish a strong product management team to assist in planning and prioritising work: prioritise high-level epics, synchronise product vision with Product Owners, and lead quarterly business planning and reviews.
Collaborate closely with tribe leaders who own transversal development teams (including infrastructure and cloud) to ensure the roadmap aligns with country needs.
Your profile and added value
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
A clear technology vision and purpose for the country’s products, including architectural focus and technology roadmaps to deliver SaaS solutions for customers and internal teams.
Proven experience in software product development within an international company.
Strong understanding of both modern cloud-native technologies and legacy system transformation.
Experience in payroll and HR technology is a strong advantage.
Business acumen to ensure the functional roadmap aligns with portfolio goals and growth targets.
Ability to inspire teams to work in an agile way, embrace change, and take ownership. Expertise in digital and agile environments is essential.
A proven track record in driving cultural change and organizational transformation.
Ability to share leadership responsibilities and coach managers and employees in a continuous learning environment.
Pragmatic, enabling, and motivational leadership style.
Ability to manage multi-dimensional, multi-country relationships and influence at all levels.
Experience managing technology resources in large organisations.
Fluency in French and English (to a high level) and willingness to travel regularly to key offices.
What do we offer?
A competitive salary based on your experience and achievements.
A dynamic environment: remote work up to 3 days per week (after your 6-month onboarding period).
Workation: the possibility to work from any SD Worx site in Europe (up to 4 weeks per year).
Learning opportunities: individual development plans and professional training.
Career development: whether you want to become an expert or broaden your knowledge, there’s always room to grow at SD Worx.
A strong team spirit and great camaraderie: team-building activities, sports tournaments, and social events.
Additional benefits: meal voucher card, additional leave (RTT), works council benefits, housing assistance (1% logement), and various bonuses (holiday and referral).
