About the role:
As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you will take ownership of complex testing initiatives, mentor junior team members, and drive quality improvements across the software development lifecycle. You will design and implement robust test strategies, contribute to automation frameworks, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure scalable, high-quality software delivery in an agile environment.
The role of the Software Test Engineer is also to ensure that the digital products we build are delivered with the highest quality possible to our clients. These products are:
- Budget module: application that allows HR contacts to create budget simulations based on data from the payroll tool. These simulations can also be compared with each other in the application. In addition, the user can compare a simulation with actuals from the payroll tool to follow up budgets.
- My International Employment: application that allows our consultants to create calculations for split payroll employees and expats. Information can be shared via the tool with the employee/employer and the tool is able to send out questionnaires to request more information from the employee/employer.
- Warrants: application that allows customers to offer warrants to their employees. Through the tool, an employee can subscribe to the warrants plan that is being offered by his employer and he is also able to manage/follow up the sale of his/her warrants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced automated test scripts using Playwright.
- Design and Execute Manual test cases within Azure Test Plan.
- Perform and coordinate functional, E2E, API, performance, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers for resolution.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to validate data integrity and support test scenarios.
- Be updated with testing processes and contribution in implementing it.
- Contribute to the enhancement of test automation frameworks and testing tools.
- Mentor and support junior QA engineers in testing techniques and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
- Promote and implement agile testing practices, ensuring alignment with sprint goals.
- Participate in and occasionally facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Good communication skills (verbal & written) to achieve excellent customer service
- Being a team player and flexible
- Take ownership and do close follow up on project/s assigned, ensuring targets are met
- Interested in test automation
Education
- Degree holder in IT/IT related fields
Skills:
- SQL
Experience:
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in manual software testing
- Understanding of tracking and versioning systems (TFS, Git, Azure DevOps, ...)
- Some experience with Testing software such as MTM, Browser Stack, Ranorex, Azure DevOps, Postman, …
- Experience in working in Agile development teams
- Experience of continuous integration, app build and delivery systems
- Knowledge about Payroll systems would be an advantage
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
