Role Overview:
As a Cloud Operations Engineer (Linux/AWS), you will be part of a team responsible for operating, securing, and maintaining Linux servers and AWS infrastructure. You’ll ensure stable and secure systems, support key AWS services, and contribute to backup, disaster recovery, and networking processes.
You’ll be working closely with the team based in Barcelona, so Spanish or Catalan fluency is required, and you’re expected to work from our Barcelona office at least two days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
System & Cloud Operations
- Operate and maintain Red Hat Linux servers in AWS (EC2)
- Perform day-to-day activities in the AWS Console
- Apply system and security configuration changes
- Support and monitor services like S3, VPC, and RDS (primarily Oracle)
Security & Reliability
- Implement system hardening and apply updates in line with security policies
- Set up and maintain backup and restore procedures
- Design and help test disaster recovery procedures
Networking
- Set up and maintain VPN connections between systems or sites
Documentation & Support
- Document procedures and system configurations
- Support incident resolution and system troubleshooting in collaboration with other team members
Qualifications:
Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Linux system engineer or system administrator
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, and RDS
- Comfortable operating in the AWS Console
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat or similar Linux systems
- Basic understanding of networking and VPN setups
- Familiarity with backup/restore tools and basic scripting
- Experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle via RDS is a plus
Language & Location
- Fluent in Spanish or Catalan (English is a plus, but not required)
- Able to work in the Barcelona office at least 2 days per week
