Our product HRnet is a leading Human Resources Information System (designed and developed as a Web application), covering Core HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Talent Management, Travel management and other HR modules and processes.
We operate across 26 countries in Europe and are supported by a dedicated Centre of Excellence in Mauritius. We are now looking to expand our 100+ strong Adriatics team with the role of a Payroll Specialist in Croatia, to support our clients with their respective payroll process.
About the role:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll by calculating salaries and contributions in line with Croatian and Slovenian labor and tax regulations, preparing and submitting statutory reports, and maintaining employee payroll records. Working closely with HR, Finance, and external authorities, you will monitor legislative changes, verify payroll accuracy, and support reliable reporting of salaries and employee-related costs.
Which tasks can you expect?
Calculation of salaries, salary compensations, and other employee earnings in compliance with the applicable labor and tax regulations of Croatia (regular work, overtime, night work, sick leave, maternity leave, etc.)
Calculation of taxes and social security contributions on salaries and other personal income, as well as verification and control of payroll accuracy
Preparation, completion, and submission of tax returns and statutory reports
Preparation and submission of required documentation to relevant authorities (Tax Administration, Republic Health Insurance Fund, Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, etc.)
Maintenance and regular updating of employee records in HR and payroll systems
Preparation of documentation for salary reimbursement claims (sick leave, maternity leave)
Cooperation with HR, Finance, and external institutions related to payroll processes
Monitoring changes in labor and tax legislation related to payroll and ensuring their proper implementation in practice
Preparation of internal reports related to salaries and employee‑related costs
What do you have to offer?
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in payroll processing in Croatia
Strong knowledge of Croatian Labor Law and payroll‑related tax regulations
Knowledge of Slovenian labor law and legal regulations is beneficial but not essential
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and the MS Office suite
Fluent in Croatian and Proficiency in English (intermediate to advanced level)
High level of accuracy, confidentiality, responsibility, and ability to work under deadlines
