About the role:
As Head of Implementation, you will lead and shape SD Worx’s implementation capability in Spain. You’ll drive efficiency, ensure high-quality delivery, and build a high-performing team that delivers complex HR and Payroll programs for domestic and international clients.
This is a strategic and leadership-focused position where you will influence transformation, strengthen delivery frameworks, and ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the Implementation strategy for Spain
Drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across all implementation activities
Oversee financial performance, governance, methodologies, tooling, and standards
Foster a cost-conscious, performance-driven culture
Monitor service quality and manage non-conformance costs
Build strong relationships with internal teams (International Implementation, Audit, Talent, Protime) and external partners
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing Professional Services team
Develop structured training and development plans to boost capability and billability
Conduct performance reviews and continuous feedback
Lead recruitment campaigns and workforce planning (including contingent workforce strategy)
Create a culture of ownership, growth, and accountability
Programme & Project Delivery
Take full accountability for implementation projects and programmes (local and international)
Ensure effective stakeholder management and governance frameworks
Deliver projects aligned with time, budget, and quality expectations
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner closely with Managed Payroll Services (MPS) to ensure seamless delivery from design to deployment
Collaborate with Sales, Commercial, and Operations on customer programmes and business improvement initiatives
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
Drive innovation and best practices using internal/external benchmarking
Lead transformation initiatives across the implementation function
Methodology & Tools
Strengthen and embed project and programme management methodologies
Contribute to the development of delivery toolkits and frameworks
Bid Support
Support commercial teams with accurate resource planning and cost modelling
Develop tools and processes to strengthen bid effectiveness
What we are Looking For
Extensive experience in senior programme / delivery leadership roles
Background in consulting or complex enterprise environments
Proven success delivering multi-workstream transformation programmes
Experience in HR and Payroll implementations (highly valued)
Strong knowledge of project/programme management methodologies
Experience leading teams in a fast-changing environment
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills
Strong commercial acumen and budget ownership
Ability to translate complex technology into clear business value
Skilled in change management and transformation delivery
Influential communicator with strong credibility and gravitas
