SD Worx is expanding its SAP Managed Payroll Services (MPS) and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) organization, and we are now building a new Nordic team with several key roles. As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will play a central role in delivering high‑quality payroll services to our customers. You will work hands‑on with operational payroll, secure compliance, ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery, and support the development of both global and local payroll standards.
You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) within the team—guiding, supporting, and mentoring colleagues—while also working closely with internal stakeholders, clients, and global SD Worx teams.
Key Responsibilities
Drive high‑quality payroll delivery, including continuous payroll (PCC), compliance controls, garnishments, payroll policies, payment releases, and statutory reporting.
Be responsible for the execution and quality assurance of payroll processes for assigned customers.
Act as the payroll SME and support medior team members with guidance, training, and day‑to‑day problem‑solving.
Support HR and payroll transformation projects with focus on process optimization and technology improvements.
Contribute to the design, definition, and implementation of global and local process standards for managed payroll services.
Participate in discussions around local/legal process deviations and align them with global standards.
Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across payroll processes.
Support the creation, update, and governance of the Local Target Operating Model (TOM) and local operating processes.
Maintain and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and process documentation.
Support onboarding and training of new team members, ensuring knowledge of local and global processes.
Collaborate closely with key internal and external stakeholders to secure consistent process execution.
Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry best practices, and new payroll technologies.
Act as the final escalation point for complex payroll cases and ensure timely resolution.
Support change order management and coordinate change requests with internal or external partners.
Lead and execute Year‑End activities including statutory reporting.
Perform advanced testing and validation for system updates, releases, and configuration changes.
Qualifications & Experience
5–8 years of experience in payroll outsourcing, preferably in a large or multinational environment.
Strong knowledge of Danish payroll processes, including PCC, controls, compliance, and statutory reporting.
Hands‑on experience with SAP Employee Central Payroll and Payroll Control Center is required.
Experience working with international or multinational clients.
Solid understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and service delivery performance.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams and clients.
Strong problem‑solving capabilities and ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work under deadlines.
Fluent in English and Danish (both written and spoken).
Preferred Skills
Experience working within Payroll and BPO outsourcing environments.
Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Payroll, Concur, Workforce Management systems, and interface tools.
Experience with inbound/outbound integrations to/from payroll.
Payroll certifications (e.g., CPP, CPS, CPM) are an advantage.
Experience working in a continuous improvement–driven environment.
