About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Process Automation Specialist to join our team. This role offers a balanced combination of hands-on execution and strategic conceptual work.
The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel skills, with knowledge of VBA being a nice-to-have, and will work closely with the payroll and implementation teams in Switzerland and Poland as well as the central Smart Automation team to standardize and automate processes within the payroll function. They are also driven to gain deepest and broadest knowledge and understanding about our business and processes.
Following an agreed and established division of work between payroll specialist, implementation and Process automation specialist, the Junior Process Automation Specialist will act as a key support for the payroll and implementation team, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of end-to-end payroll processes.
Which tasks can you expect?
- Performing (automated) processes and looking after the correct completion of those.
- Creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Automation & Standardization:
- Collaborate with the central Smart Automation team to identify and implement automation opportunities within payroll processes.
- Work to standardize payroll procedures to streamline efficiency and reduce errors.
- Design and develop automated solutions to simplify and optimize recurring payroll tasks, using Excel, VBA, and other automation tools as needed.

Execution of Automation Processes:
- Execute the automation processes and ensure that all activities are running smoothly and accurately.
- Provide hands-on support in implementing automation solutions and ensure successful adoption by the payroll team.

Collaboration & Support:
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll teams, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting any issues with automation processes.
- Work alongside payroll specialists to divide and coordinate end-to-end payroll processes efficiently.
- Ensure the smooth operation of payroll systems and the integration of new automated processes.

Conceptual & Strategic Work:
- Contribute to the conceptual development of process automation strategies within payroll, implementation and related functions.
- Identify areas for process improvement and provide solutions that align with the organization’s objectives.
- Develop training materials and documentation to support the transition to automated processes
What do you have to offer?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas, data analysis).
- Experience with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) is desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex problems into automated solutions.
- Experience working with payroll processes is a plus but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in process automation or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results
