About the role:

As the Manager Cyber Defence Strategy and Processes, you are responsible to manage our Cyber Defence strategy and the related processes for the SD Worx group with a primary focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Additionally, you are also acting as the team leader/coach of the cyber defence team member in Mauritius coaching and growing their skills and competences

Which tasks can you expect?

Cyber defence strategy

• Analysing emerging threats, best practices, and technology trends in the field of cyber security and provide recommendations to the Chief Risk & Security Officer and senior management on the selection, use and organisation of cyber security technologies and processes.
• Ensure that requirements of SD Worx’s customers and other external stakeholders on cybersecurity related matters are incorporated into the cyber defence strategy

Continuous improvement of our cyber defence processes

• Regularly assess and update our cyber defence processes including collateral that can be used towards customers & regulators.
• Drive innovation in cyber defence by assessing and continuously improving our cyber defence processes to build best in class protection and ensure SD Worx stays ahead of the evolution in the threat landscape. This includes a close cooperation with the external SOC.
• Monitor cyber security vendor solutions to find innovative and emerging solutions that optimize SD Worx’s cyber defence processes. This includes defining requirements for vendors for request for proposals (RFPs), technical analysis of vendor solution features and active participation in the selection of vendors.
• Investigate and establish proof of concepts of new innovative ways to deal with cybersecurity problems, including through the use of AI and machine learning technologies.

Coaching cyber defence team members in Mauritius

• Lead in growing the knowledge and experience of the cyber defence team members in Mauritius (team of 7 people)
• Support, coach and grow performance of our Mauritian cyber defence team staff (in close collaboration with the Product Owner, Flow Master and Director Cyber Defence)

What do you have to offer?

Technical Competencies:

• Master’s degree with more than 10 years of experience in the technology field
• You have deep, proven experience in cybersecurity products and technology and in articulating cybersecurity strategies and business cases
• You have expertise in process design and in continuously improving processes
• You are capable of building strong relationships with product owners and IT teams to stimulate them following security best practices and security policies
• You have experience and a good knowledge of the main security frameworks including ISO27001, NIST cybersecurity framework and the CIS Critical Security Controls
• You are confident in being a critical friend and debating technical approaches and tradeoffs in processes balancing business requirements vs security

Personal Competencies:

• Passionate in driving and improving cybersecurity by influencing others. You are capable to foster collaboration and advocating for change across team boundaries and project groups.
• You are autonomous, proactive and like to take initiative
• You are willing to coach people through sharing of your knowledge and experience
• You have strong communication skills and are able to translate technical measures and constraints and articulate business impact
• You love to work in an international team in which you will have contact with colleagues from multiple countries and backgrounds
• Ability to challenge proposed solutions and ways of working
• Excellent English language skills
