Job Overview:
The Application Engineer is responsible for building and refreshing customer environments, with a focus on environment management, including QA/DEV builds and decommissioning. This role involves managing business approval for environment changes, prioritising requests, and providing 1st and 2nd level technical support. Key duties include incident and change management, deploying our software products, and addressing any issues that arise, while ensuring compliance with security policies. The engineer will also escalate issues affecting delivery schedules, liaise with stakeholders, and participate in product upgrades/releases. Additional responsibilities and skills may apply
Mandatory:
- Degree in IT
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in Windows Server, Web Server, SQL Server administration
- Knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure- 2012, 2016 & 2019
- Knowledge of IIS – 8.5 and onwards
- Knowledge of PowerShell Scripting
- Knowledge of TSQL – SQL 2012, 2016, 2019
Desirable:
- Multinational exposure & experience
- Common IT Knowledge: SQL, XML etc.
- Basic knowledge of TFS/Azure
- Basic knowledge of SQL replication
- Windows Server Certifications
Key Accountabilities:
- Build and refresh customer environments, including QA/DEV builds and decommissioning.
- Participate in CAB reviews with decision-making authority.
- Prioritise requests for environment builds and refreshes.
- Manage disk capacity and decommission unused environments.
- Provide 1st/2nd level technical support to users and customers.
- Manage, proritise and resolve incidents, ensure quick restoration of service during major incidents.
- Deploy software products, address deployment issues, and collaborate with project managers and customers to ensure timely resolution.
- Implement change requests and communicate/escalate issues impacting delivery schedules.
- Liaise with service providers and third-party suppliers for issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies and processes.
- Participate in product upgrades/releases and manage software release documentation.
- Provide out-of-hours support as needed and be available to cover MAU/UK hours.

- Experience in deploying and upgrading web-based apps on a Microsoft platform.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus.
