D&I Data Engineer

Data & Insights squad

SD Worx is expanding on his new Data & Insights offering to its customers. Initiated in 2021, a set of new products and services is being deployed, enabling customers to leverage the value of their data with more flexibility and ease than ever before.

The geographical and functional scope is continuously expanding, and the new products are brought to the SD Worx customers in a true agile approach: with close feedback from various pilot customers, short iterations, and a constant focus for customer benefits and value, and thus also SD Worx business value.

 

Team

Members of the team need to be both professional and experienced in the supporting disciplines (data engineering, data governance, HR analytics, product development, …) and flexible (T-shaped, business minded, customer centric).

The agile approach, with early customer involvement, requires a team of people with a can-do mentality, that will be building a cathedral, not cutting rocks.

 

Data Engineer Role

Required expertise

  • Ability to analyze existing systems and applications, assessing data structures and data quality, and translating this information into relevant data models for analytical purposes.
  • Ability to acquire, structure and summarize insights on existing systems and processes
  • Understand relevance of data quality, techniques for monitoring data quality, and processes and mechanisms for improving it.
  • Strong experience in working with various relational databases
  • Solid experience on relational and dimensional data modelling
  • Being aware there is no single right or wrong architectural approach, it is key to understand various architectural patterns without being religious about it
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau

 

Your profile

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence or similar role.
  • You have extensive SQL expertise.
  • You have knowledge of front end tools, preferably Microsoft Power BI, or any comparable technology (Tableau, Cognos, Qlik, …)
  • You have strong communication skills (ENG) and you are able to act as a Partner for our internal Businesses
  • You are eager to learn and have a result-driven mind-set.

 

Experience considered as a plus:

Any particular experience on data analysis in an HR context would obviously give you a head start. Other than that, these technical skills are considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of statistics (Python, R).
  • Experience with DBT
  • Experience working with Snowflake
  • Experience in developing Self Service BI Solutions.
  • Experience in agile working is a plus
