Lead Systems Administrator

This vacancy is for the Core Operations squad, responsible for monitoring events across IT platforms for our clients, as well as running batched jobs. The role involves working on shift basis to provide 24/7 coverage including weekends and public holidays.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Monitor all events that occur through the IT Infrastructure, and ensure the smooth running of batch jobs, implementation of change releases, and product upgrades
  • Incident & Problem Management - Manage and resolve customer requests within SLA and in line with agreed standards
  • Analyze and prioritize incidents/change requests, ensuring that the incident/change request processes are being followed and requests are being tracked/updated appropriately
  • Participate in major incidents to assist in restoring service to local/ remote users as quickly as possible according to service level agreements
  • Communicate and escalate to colleagues and other stakeholders on issues which may impact delivery schedules
  • Liaise with service providers and 3rd party suppliers for any issues which may require their intervention
  • Create appropriate metrics to track and provide root cause analysis of technical issues, in addition to team processes, and make improvements accordingly.
  • Identifying technical training needs of team members and implement effective training processes for a 24/7 team.
  • Initiate and drive continuous improvement initiatives – example automation of manual tasks, Tool standardisation.

 

 

Mandatory requirements

 

  • Degree or Diploma holder in IT related fields, with at least 5 years professional experience.
  • At least 5 years experience in Windows Server, Web Server, SQL Server administration and Citrix Administration
    • Knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure- 2012, 2016 & 2019
    • Basic knowledge of Windows SQL Server Administration- 2012, 2016
    • Knowledge of IIS – 8.5 and onwards
    • Experience with Citrix Administration
    • Knowledge of Powershell Scripting
  • Knowledge of FTP protocols, encryption methodologies
  • Knowledge of Monitoring tools – Dynatrace/Redgate/Uptrends/SCOM/Control M

 

 

Desirable skills

 

  • Scrum Master / Flow Manager skills
  • Windows Server Certifications
  • Multinational exposure & experience
  • Knowledge of Mainframe
  • Common IT Knowledge: SQL, XML etc.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Cherwell
  • Basic knowledge of Network Protocols and troubleshooting tools – TCP, Telnet, IP Addressing etc.
  • Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of ITIL
