SD Worx is a leading European provider of Payroll & HR services with global reach. We have offices in Europe and an office in  Mauritius. Our goal? We bring people solutions to life. So companies of any size can turn Human Resources into a source of value for the business and the people in it. Our people solutions span the entire employee journey, from getting people paid to attracting, rewarding, and developing talent.

The Financial Controller is the key person the business relies on for finance related matters. This primarily relates to setting up and maintaining the structures for proper financial follow-up, interpreting the financials (story telling) and translating business decisions and trends into financial forecasts and budgets. This results in tangible added value to the business, spotting risks and opportunities on the financial side of business.

The controller relies on the good work of the accountants in the respective countries touching his segment. It goes without saying that intensive interaction with the business is absolutely required for a proper result.

The team is globally organized: each controller is responsible for a segment, spanning multiple countries. Still, local presence and team spirit is key to share best practices and stay close to the business. As such, the controller is instrumental in providing relevant information not only to the leadership of his subsegment, but also to country management and official bodies (workers council, directors committee, …).

These activities result in a very dynamic team, taking up different challenges, close to the heart of the company and with a good balance between routine operations and ad hoc work.

As a Financial Controller, your main areas of responsibility are:

  • Monthly analysis of actuals & comparison with budget, forecast & previous year.
  • Monthly forecast preparation: challenging, processing and translating the business input into valuable management information.
  • Yearly budget preparation: challenging, processing and translating the business input into valuable management information.
  • Story-building of actuals, forecasts and budgets.
  • Participate in subsegment management teams.
  • Participate in business cases, either to give input on segment-wide cases, or to fully calculate them in subsegment cases.
  • Prepare a variety of financial analyses and presentations independently, providing information to executive Management.
  • Provide business insights to auditors.
  • Participate in local and global initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in a better integration of SAP4HANA.
  • Participate to official bodies such as workers council (from employer’s side).
  • Team up with controllers globally.

  • You have a master degree
  • After a first audit experience within a Big4 or second tier accounting firm, you have minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial controlling
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English
  • You have good interpersonal skills and easy contact to interact with senior management and the wider organization of the company
  • You have proven experience with global ERP systems. Knowledge of SAP4Hana and Sap Analytics Cloud is a plus
  • You love change and constantly learning new things

We guarantee an innovative organization where your personal development goes hand in hand with the delivery of strong results for SD Worx - both nationally and internationally. We offer an appropriate salary and supplementary benefits package. In addition, you can put together your own benefits package with the Flex Income Plan, which seamlessly fits in with your personal needs.
